Species first
This collection is built around structured species records, so the directory, profiles, Finder and comparisons use the same values. Twelve substantive profiles launch the guide. A separate dated taxonomy registry holds 94 names from FishBase; names without complete editorial content do not receive public pages. We do not claim that a dated registry settles every taxonomic question.
Facts and planning judgments
Each profile links to its species references and records a source-check date. Distribution and identifying traits are summarized from published material; aquarium targets, experience ratings and practical management advice are editorial synthesis. Our target ranges are conservative planning tools rather than experimentally determined tolerance limits. They are not a substitute for the history of the actual fish.
How the Finder works
Space, pH, GH, temperature, experience and community requirements are checked before preferences. A fish outside any hard condition is excluded, even if its color matches. Compatible fish are then ordered by visual and breeding preferences. No percentages imply scientific precision. The tool covers published profiles only and cannot inspect your layout, health of livestock or quality of filtration.
What publication means
A profile must include identification, habitat, care, feeding, breeding, tankmates, provenance and references, plus valid structured ranges. Automated checks catch missing fields and broken links; they do not replace specialist scientific review. We describe the initial material as source-checked editorial content, not independent peer-reviewed research.

This site has no checkout or live inventory feed and makes no claim that a linked retailer currently holds a particular fish. Confirm identity, source, availability and shipping with the retailer.

The Finder and comparison tools run in your browser. This version has no account system, analytics, advertising trackers or submission form. Your aquarium entries are not transmitted by these tools. The host serving the site may keep standard request logs; no hosting service has been selected or activated by this build.
